Withings Body Scan: Smart scales analyze the body
Scales with app support are no longer a novelty, which is why the French manufacturer Withings is concentrating on sophisticated functions. With the Body Scan, a new device has now been presented at CES 2022, which will be advertised as a “health station”. Unlike many similar smart scales, the analysis and graphic processing of simple values does not stop there. Instead there is a extensive heart analysis ready (source: Withings).
In addition to the heart rate, Body Scan also offers a Six-channel electrocardiogram via two electrodes. Results can be read on the LC display and in the accompanying app. A PDF is also generated in order to be able to share measured data with medical personnel. The scales can also determine the age of the vessels. For people with diabetes, Body Scan offers the detection of nervous diseases.
For the first time, the scales also offer information on “segmental body composition”. So can Arms, legs and trunk analyzed separately will. In addition, an analysis of weight, muscles, fat, water, bones and body mass index is available. The manufacturer advertises Body Scan as “the most precise scale on the market”, even if it is not yet available.
