Without plastic cups: – Bettidrink vending machine flows in eco-streams

All it takes is a call or a click of a smartphone and “Betti” comes along! This is exactly what the young eco-pioneer Manuel Gollinger from Neunkirchen called his drinks dispenser, which does not need any plastic cups, aluminum cans or glass bottles

“There must be alternatives that conserve resources and reduce CO emissions simply because of shorter transport routes,” Gollinger mused one evening with his environmental “brother” Reinhart Adam. Both tinkered and tinkered until their “Betti” could be launched. Suitable for schools The core of the well-thought-out drinking concept: A drinks machine from which liquids of the desired type can be filled directly. As a stand-alone device, “Betti” is ideally suited for schools (already in use in Zwettl), companies, organizations or for events with up to 190 people. The selection is made directly via a specially developed app with a QR code. Whoever downloads this will receive his personal glass drinking bottle that can be refilled again and again. Ingredients come from AustriaThe environmental positives poured into figures: “Betti” avoids around 1900 kilos of C02 per location and year (about as much as a car on the route 40 times from Vienna emits to Salzburg) as well as 570 kg of crude oil and 8.7 cubic meters of plastic waste. If you were to stack the latter in 0.5 liter plastic bottles, that would be 20 times the height of St. Stephen’s Cathedral in Vienna (136 meters). And the Neunkirchen-based “Betti” uses something else to seduce climate-conscious local consumers: all (syrup) ingredients come from Austria. So cheers – to Betti! Information at: www.bettidrink.at
