UEFA announced on Tuesday April 19 the list of thirteen referees selected to officiate during the Women’s Euro 2022, from July 6 to 31, in England. Among them, a Frenchwoman was selected.

France will not only be represented by the players of Corinne Deacon during the European Women’s Football Championship, which will be held in England from July 6 to 31. Indeed, according to BFM TV, the French Stéphanie Frappart was appointed among the thirteen arbitrators selected to officiate throughout the competition. The list was unveiled by UEFA on Tuesday 19 April. Alongside her, her compatriots Manuela Nicolosi and Élodie Coppola are on the list of assistant referees. Were also selected, to take care of the VAR (video assistance to arbitration), the French Benoît Millot, referee of Ligue 1, and Maika Vanderstichel, referee of women’s D1.

38 years old, Stephanie Frappart is known to have been the first female referee in the French second division (2014) then in men’s league 1 (2019). She was also the first to lead the European Super Cup in August 2019 and then the first to have officiated in the Champions League in December 2020.
