Wonder Woman 1984: Gal Gadot's return to the Amazons is delayed until Christmas

Wonder Woman aka Gal Gadot won't be able to save the world until Christmas at the earliest – Warner Bros. has postponed "Wonder Woman 1984" again.

The "Wonder Woman" is inevitably a "Christmas Woman": Once again, the Warner Bros. film studio had to postpone the theatrical release of the comic book adaptation "Wonder Woman 1984". Actually, the film with Gal Gadot (35) in the title role should have finally come to the cinemas on October 1st. But nothing will come of this date either and instead it should now be the 25th of December in the USA, i.e. the first Christmas holiday.

This year, December 24th falls on a Thursday, the day of the week on which all films in Germany, with a few exceptions, are shown. It is not yet known whether "Wonder Woman 1984" will start in this country on Christmas Eve – so far only the change in the US start has been reported. Originally, the sequel to the 2017 box office hit should have started on June 4, before the corona pandemic hit not only the cinema industry hard.

It is also unclear whether the postponement of the "Wonder Woman" sequel could have an impact on another Warner film. Because on December 17th, just one week before the new date for the comic film adaptation, the sci-fi spectacle "Dune" is still planned. It seems quite possible that the film studio does not want to compete with itself and Denis Villeneuves (52) is postponing the remake of the famous novel.
