VS’is a match that will be followed with attention by many French people, and Emmanuel Macron at the top of the list. In an interview given to Parisian, the President of the Republic showed his optimism a few hours before the eighth final of the Blues against Poland, this Sunday, December 4 at 4 p.m. “I think we win 3-1, Lewandowski will put one, like Mbappé or maybe Giroud, who wants to go down in history. And joker for the third goal of the French”, bet the head of state, on the sidelines of his state visit to the United States.

“I had Didier Deschamps every post-match! I find that it is once again a very strong and solid collective. I have a lot of respect for Didier Deschamps, his experience, his know-how. The average age of this collective is very young and at the same time there must be eleven players who have a star that they themselves have embroidered, ”also commented Emmanuel Macron.

The President of the Republic praised the qualities of the French pool present at the World Cup: “No team in the world has both this freshness and this experience. We have seniors like Giroud and Grizou who show that they still have it under their belts, a genius with Mbappé who proves that he is still at the big meetings, and then we have young people! Hernandez, a full-back who knows how to climb very high… he’s a remarkable collective. Emmanuel Macron had indicated before the competition that he would go to Qatar if France qualified in the last four.

The same eleven as against Denmark

First in its group C ahead of Australia, Tunisia and Denmark, the France team ideally started its competition by winning against the Socceroos (4-1), before overcoming the Danes (2-1 ), recent semi-finalists of the last Euro. With a largely redesigned starting lineup, the Blues were then surprised by Tunisia (1-0).

In the round of 16, Didier Deschamps should renew the same eleven as against Denmark. Captain Hugo Lloris will keep the cages of the Blues and can count on his central hinge composed of Dayot Upamecano and Raphaël Varane, with Théo Hernandez and Jules Koundé at the side positions. Antoine Griezmann, Aurélien Tchouaméni and Adrien Rabiot should start in the middle, while the attacking trio Kylian Mbappé-Olivier Giroud-Ousmane Dembélé would be renewed.

In the event of victory against Poland, the France team will face England or Senegal in the quarter-finals, who will face each other on Sunday evening (8 p.m.). As a reminder, the first two nations to qualify are the Netherlands, winners of the United States (3-1), and Argentina, victorious of Australia (2-1).
