World War Z: Did Brad Pitt perform all his stunts himself during filming?


Broadcast Sunday, June 19, 2022 from 9:05 p.m. on TFX, the film World War Z features Brad Pitt in the lead role. On this occasion, Télé Star reveals to you if the actor himself performed his own stunts during filming.

Released in cinemas in 2013, the blockbuster titled World War Zworn by Brad Pitt in the main rolewill be rebroadcast on Sunday, June 19, 2022, from 9:05 p.m. on TFX. Produced by Marc Forsterthis film adaptation of the eponymous novel by Max Brooks was a real commercial success during its theatrical release. With an estimated production budget of $190 million, this feature film collected more than 540 million dollars worldwide. In France, nearly 2.5 million spectators went to the cinema to discover this blockbuster.

If the producers of this feature film have therefore made a nice profit, however, they could have made even more money. Unfortunately for them, the filming of World War Z was quite chaotic. Between them tension on the setchanging writers, need to plan new scenes, special effects issues etc., the production of this blockbuster took several weeks behind schedule. Thus, the theatrical release, initially scheduled for December 2012, had to be postponed to July 2013. For the record, brad pittwhich is the headliner of World War Zwanted to perform all of his character’s stunts himself on set.

World War Z: intensive training for the actors before filming

In addition, James Badge Dale, who plays the soldier running the military base in North Korea, wished spend time with the actors playing the soldiers before filming. He then took the advice of Freddie Joe Farnworth, who was a stuntman and technical consultant on World War Z. “Freddie introduced us to the handling of weapons and made us do some exercises so that we get to know each other and build relationships“, revealed the comedian. For her part, actress Daniella Kertesz, who plays the character of Segen, has also followed an intensive training program over 5 days, in order to be credible in the skin of an Israeli army lieutenant. “We integrated her into a regiment and we taught her certain maneuvers, as we did with the extras“, underlined Freddie Joe Farnworth.
