Worldline: tests a ‘reverse’ toll around Lille

(CercleFinance.com) – Worldline announces that it has built and operated ‘the first positive toll solution in France for the European Metropolis of Lille (MEL)’, supported by the communication agency dps.

The idea of the device is to be able to ‘significantly reduce road traffic’ and fight against recurring congestion during peak hours on the most critical axes, by paying motorists a bonus per journey avoided by car.

This ‘reverse toll’ thus rewards motorists who change their travel habits by taking congested main roads less often, telecommute or adjust their schedules.

Initially, this program is tested on the A1 and the A23.

Worldline specifies that it has designed a digital platform that covers all needs: from the declaration of the user’s mode of transport, its verification to the payment of the reward by the MEL; through the provision of its support center to respond to the requests of the various actors involved, users and administrators.
