WRC: Sébastien Loeb will be back on rallying

Sébastien Loeb, nine-time WRC world champion, will make his return at the Monte-Carlo rally, M-Sport confirmed on Tuesday.

It is now official. The rally legend, who has tested the new Ford Puma hybrid prepared by M-Sport in recent weeks, returns to 47 years.

At almost 48 years old, Sébastien Loeb, who had made occasional appearances with Citroën and Hyudai (2017, 2018 and 2019) this time returns with M-Sport on the occasion of the next Monte-Carlo, an event he won seven time.

“It’s nice to work with M-Sport. They are a very professional team and they know how to build good cars, explained Sébastien Loeb. Since the beginning of my career I have fought against Ford, but I have always known Malcolm [Wilson] as someone very involved in his team and passionate about rallying. We have always had a good relationship. I’m really excited about Monte-Carlo, it’s really an exciting challenge. ”

The Alsatian has not yet indicated whether it was a one-time draw. In any case, it is a new very nice move from the dispensary of Malcolm Wilson if this were done since she had already managed to have Sébastien Ogier, with whom she won two world titles.

In the meantime, M-Sport has indicated that Adrien Fourmaux will play a full season in 2022. The 26-year-old Northerner is confirmed as official driver for the entire season, alongside the Irishman Craig Breen (31) and of Briton Gus Greensmith (24).
