In recent weeks, the X.com platform (formerly Twitter) has seen many advertisers withdraw from the network.

A few weeks after deciding to abandon all forms of assistance on the X.com network, the giant Apple has decided to stop the distribution of advertising on the platform. Already exasperated by the proliferation of toxic and/or misleading comments that abound on the social network, society has clearly not appreciated Elon Musk’s recent positions. Last September, Tim Cook was already wondering about maintaining advertising on the network.

Apple (also) pauses its ads on X.com

A few days ago, the American giant IBM decided to withdraw all its advertising from the X.com platform (formerly Twitter). Despite the promise made by Linda Yaccarino concerning the impossibility for brands to be displayed alongside toxic messages, IBM saw its advertisements displayed in discussion threads that were problematic to say the least, against a backdrop of Nazism and other remarks. anti-Semitic.

The magazine Media Matters then revealed that in addition to the IBM company, other web giants were affected by the problem, including a certain Apple, whose advertising extolling the merits of its Mac was found displayed under a photo… of Adolf Hitler.

With IBM and Apple, Disney, Warner Bros, ComCast…

Logically, the magazine Axios reports that Apple has in turn stopped all advertising on the X.com network. For many years now, Apple has regularly purchased advertising space on X.com, without forgetting personalized emoji animations for certain events (which modify the animation of the “button” I like » on the network). According to various estimates, Apple injects $100 million into advertising each year on the social network.

For his part, the New York Times reported that Disney was also discontinuing its advertising on X.com, while CNBC indicated a similar decision on the side of Warner Bros, but also Paramount and Comcast/NBC Universal.

Among the companies that have decided to suspend the broadcast of advertisements on X.com, we also find the American group Lionsgatewhich is responsible in particular for the production and distribution of films such as Expendables 4, Saw X or John Wick 4. A real blow to Elon Musk’s finances.
