Xbox opens 2024 with the announcement of its next Developer Direct, allowing us to see what will be released this year from Microsoft Studios.

The event organized by Microsoft’s gaming branch will take place on January 18 at 9 p.m. (Paris time) and will present in more detail the big games coming this year on PC and Xbox Series X|S. In this case, four games are headlining. Two are already known to us in the person ofAvowed And Hellblade 2and two others join the festivities: Ara: History Untold and… the famous game Indiana Jones published by Bethesda!

One-on-one invitation with developers

As the name suggests, Developer Direct is a way for Xbox-affiliated studios to talk to us directly about their upcoming projects. The 2023 edition of the event took place on January 25, and we were entitled to the presentation of titles like Minecraft Legendsthe infamous Redfalland a very nice surprise in the person of Hi-Fi RUSH.

Xbox has already announced to us the games that will be presented by their developers during this year’s edition, which this time will be held on January 18 at 9 p.m. here. On the program: the highly anticipated Ninja Theory game, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, Avowed from Obsidian Entertainment, Ara: History Untold by Oxide Games and the game Indiana Jones published by Bethesda and overseen by MachinesGames (Wolfenstein)

Gameplay for those present, and unfortunately those absent

These four games will be entitled to long presentations in due form by their respective studios, including gameplay at stake. Something closely monitored, because the titles cited had until now been quite discreet on this point.

We think in particular of Avowed And Hellblade 2, announced a few years ago and remained largely in the shadows since. We also retain a presentation of the gameplay of the game Indiana Jones, which, for its part, was not even entitled to any trailer. Fans of the adventurer with the hat and the whip must therefore wait for this presentation of the title published by Bethesda and developed by FPS specialists MachinesGames at the turn.

Unfortunately, not all Microsoft-owned studios will be participating in the event. We are thinking in particular of Activision Blizzard King, which now fully belongs to the American giant, its infamous CEO Bobby Kotick having finally left his position on December 31. Xbox has in fact indicated its absence in the blog article dedicated to the Developer Direct, cited in the source below.

However, we are not safe from any surprise announcements outside of the four headlining games. See you on January 18 at 9 p.m. to find out for sure. We should in any case be present to cover the event!
