Xbox Game Pass trouble: fans draw a line

Some Xbox Game Pass subscribers are bursting at the seams. After Bethesda recently postponed two important games that were due to be released later this year for Microsoft’s gaming subscription, they are now drawing a line and giving up Game Pass.

Xbox Game Pass has often been described as the best gaming deal in the past. Currently, however, many fans are dissatisfied with the service and sparked a heated discussion about the games on Twitter in Game Pass. The starting point for the criticism is the recent postponement of Starfield and Redfall.

Xbox Game Pass: Fans unleash frustration

After Xbox recently announced the postponement of the long-awaited games Starfield and Redfall, the Xbox Game Pass offer is under the microscope – and on Twitter opinions differ greatly. Many players announce that they now want to turn their backs on the subscription service, because they lack new triple-A games. For example, journalist Gene Park tweeted that he hardly ever uses the service and would therefore no longer subscribe. In addition, subscribers were promised an exclusive game every three months, which Xbox would not keep.

Many commenters agree with Park on Twitter, complaining about the lack of triple-A exclusive games on Xbox Game Pass. However, there are other players defending the service – after all the offer includes hundreds of games, which also include older hits and popular indie games, for example. (Source: Twitter)

After Starfield and Redfall: Does Game Pass have a problem?

The disappointment that Starfield and Redfall won’t be released until 2023 runs deep in the Xbox community. The frustration is understandable, after all the hype surrounding Bethesda’s Starfield is huge and Xbox’s game output with the shifts, especially this year, is fairly manageable.

That said, the subscription service offers numerous other games that, depending on personal taste, might justify membership – May 26th brings Sniper Elite 5 for example an extremely interesting day-one release.
