Xiaomi presented the Xiaomi 12 in a keynote on December 28, 2021. Starting with this series, Xiaomi’s flagships will be available in two sizes. Both the Xiaomi 12 and the Xiaomi 12 Pro are equipped with the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processors and have DisplayMate A + OLED displays.
Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro: More power for the flagships
The Xiaomi 12 and the Xiaomi 12 Pro come in different housing colors.
According to Xiaomi, the aforementioned Qualcomm Snapdragon processor raises the bar for androids to a new level. Among other things, the new chip should ensure that the graphics performance is up to 30 percent higher than the previous generation. The Xiaomi 12 should work up to 25 percent more energy-efficiently. In addition, both the Xiaomi 12 and the Xiaomi 12 Pro are equipped with LPDDR5 memory, which, according to the manufacturer, supports a transfer rate of up to 6,400 Mbps. The Xiaomi 12 has a 6.28 inch OLED screen with a resolution of 2400 × 1080 pixels and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hertz. The Xiaomi 12 Pro has a 6.73 inch display; the resolution here is 3200×1440 pixels. Both smartphones support HDR10 + and Dolby Vision.
Xiaomi 12/12 Pro: The camera and battery can do that

Xiaomi does not splash out on the camera either: the Xiaomi 12 comes with a Sony main camera (50 megapixels), paired with a 13 MP ultra wide-angle camera and a 5 megapixel tele macro camera. The Xiaomi 12 Pro goes a step further, has a triple camera array with 50 megapixels each. The Xiaomi 12 is equipped with a 4,500 mAh battery, which, according to the manufacturer, allows all-day use. Xiaomi goes one better with the 12 Pro: According to the Chinese, this device has the industry’s first 120 watt single cell battery with 4,600 mAh. According to Xiaomi, this technology offers a 400 mAh higher capacity compared to two-cell batteries without increasing the overall size.
Xiaomi 12 & 12 Pro: price, availability
The 12 series from Xiaomi primarily wants to score with camera power.
Both the Xiaomi 12 and the Xiaomi 12 Pro will initially only be available in China. There the 12 with 128 gigabytes of data storage costs the equivalent of around 520 euros, the model with 256 gigabytes costs around 615 euros. The Pro model is available from 650 euros; the best-equipped variant comes to around 750 euros. Both devices will be available in black, blue or purple glass versions or in green vegan leather.
