The Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro were very well received by fans of the Chinese manufacturer, so much so that the previous record for sales of the Xiaomi Mi 11 was easily broken. This success can in particular be attributed to the lower prices than the previous generation.
Last week Xiaomi unveiled its new Xiaomi 12, 12 Pro and 12X in China. As every year, the three devices offer exceptional value for money, which has not failed to delight fans of the Chinese manufacturer. Directly on sale after the end of the conference on December 28, smartphones have been a hit in China.
Whereas Xiaomi Mi 11 sales managed to generate 1.5 billion yuan (208.2 million euros) in revenue just 5 minutes after the smartphone went on sale, the Xiaomi 12 managed to break this record. Indeed, the new generation is probably more popular, since it has managed to generate 1.8 billion yuan (249.8 million euros) in revenue in just 5 minutes.
High performance for a low price, the recipe for success?
The impressive sales of the Xiaomi 12, 12 Pro and 12X are probably due to their contained price, which has been revised downwards compared to the previous generation. Indeed, while the Xiaomi Mi 11 had been marketed in China from 3,999 yuan (555 euros), the Xiaomi 12 is offered for only 3699 yuan (513 euros). Xiaomi has probably managed to lower the price of the smartphone, as it is more compact than its predecessor, with a screen of just 6.28 inches.
For their part, the Xiaomi 12 Pro and 12X are also very affordable, the smartphones being sold respectively from 4699 yuan (651 euros) and 3199 yuan (443 euros). The Xiaomi 12 Pro has already been tested, and the first feedback has highlighted a big problem with the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, which will however equip most high-end smartphones from 2022.
In France, the Xiaomi 12 is also expected to be cheaper than the previous generation.. The Xiaomi Mi 11 was launched here at 749 euros, so it is not impossible that this new generation is offered around 699 euros. It will nevertheless be necessary to wait a few more weeks before seeing it arrive here.
