If Xiaomi continues to tease the arrival of its Xiaomi 14 Ultra, the device should offer, it must be admitted, a solid photo experience… probably capable of matching, or even surpassing, that of its main competitor: the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

Should we expect the best for the photo part of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra? If we stick to the latest news, the answer is yes. Xiaomi has in fact shared on Chinese social networks the main technical specifications of its new flagship in this area… and it looks promising. Expected during the MWC, the device should indeed be able to compete in this area with the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, its main competitor.

A design revealed… at the same time as a promising photo section

The visuals shared on . The Xiaomi 14 Ultra also lets us see the metal frame of its chassis and the both rounded and slightly domed shape of its central island, bringing together its four photo modules.

However, it was on Weibo that Xiaomi told us more about the specifications of these different sensors. We thus learn that the Xiaomi 14 Ultra will be able to count on a 50 Mpx LYT-900 (1 inch) main camera, with a variable aperture system of up to f/1.63. At the same time, we will find a 50 Mpx secondary sensor with x3.2 zoom and a 50 Mpx x5 periscope there too.

Samsung, watch out?

In this case, these two modules each use an IMX858 camera, but aperture at f/1.8 and f/2.6 respectively. As Android Authority points out, the periscope zoom benefits from a more advantageous aperture than the f/3.0 of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, and could offer better image quality in low light than what the x5 zoom of the Galaxy S24 Ultra allows.

Indeed, the latter benefits from a smaller aperture, limited to f/3.4 and not allowing, in theory, to absorb as much light. We will remain cautious, that said, until we can try the device for ourselves and in various situations.

As a reminder, the Xiaomi should be announced in Barcelona on February 25. So the wait is almost over.
