Qualcomm’s new ultra-powerful chip would have already caused a stir at Xiaomi. The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 will equip the upcoming Xiaomi 12 Ultra, but also potentially two other premium smartphones from the Chinese brand that should accompany it.
Barely announced, already in a Xiaomi smartphone. It has become a habit for the Chinese manufacturer: as soon as a latest generation processor from Qualcomm hits the market, it must already be in one of its high-end products. And this, sometimes at the cost of a few failures in the integration which cost its autonomy in particular to the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra last year.
Bis repetita in sight with the latest Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 just presented by the American manufacturer. We already know that the next Xiaomi 12 Ultra, which is slow to arrive, will most likely be equipped with it. But many rumors suggest that it will not be the only Xiaomi device to have it.

Power for every budget
According to various sources cited by the Indian site Gizbot, Xiaomi would have at least two other smartphones in anticipation embedding the latest SoC from Qualcomm. All would belong to the same premium family. In addition to the Xiaomi 12 Ultra, we would therefore find possible Xiaomi 12s and Xiaomi 12s Pro. And all three would be announced in the coming days to add to the existing Xiaomi 12R, Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro.
If the Xiaomi 12s seems to be the “high-end entry” version, in order to offer an affordable smartphone with power, the Xiaomi 12s Pro would be very close to the Xiaomi 12 Pro, which is based on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. A simple upgrade of the SoC would therefore be in sight and it was once whispered that the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 should bring it all its power.
Unveiled shortly after the release of its predecessor, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 promises a significant performance gain and reductions in heating problems in particular. Gains in energy consumption and also in speed for the CPUs and GPUs are announced.
