Xiaomi smartphones are extremely popular and sell like sliced bread. Soon the Chinese company will bring new value-for-money hits onto the market and will probably make an unexpected compromise in the process. With Xiaomi you do not expect such a step.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 only expected with 4G modem
A few weeks ago, Xiaomi presented a total of three new mid-range smartphones with the Redmi Note 11, Note 11 Pro and Note 11 Pro +, which not only look good, but also a have an extremely strong price-performance ratio. At least with the Redmi Note 11, there should be a compromise in terms of equipment in Europe. While a 5G modem is built into every model in China, we should probably only use a 4G modem (source: Twitter).
That’s a bit strange because Xiaomi is already offering the Redmi Note 11 in this country as the Poco M4 Pro with a different design – and with a 5G modem. In Germany, the smartphone costs only 279 euros (look at Amazon) and could become a real insider tip if the Redmi Note 11 from Xiaomi really does without the 5G modem. It would be conceivable that the Price should be pushed down a bit.
But there will be even more differences. We reported a long time ago that Xiaomi wanted to change the technical data and design for Europe. Instead of processors from MediaTek, some from Qualcomm should be used. This could result in a better update supply, as Xiaomi recently confirmed itself.

One can assume that the lack of the 5G modem only applies to the Redmi Note 11. We can hardly imagine that Xiaomi will also remove the modem from the Redmi Note 11 Pro and Pro +. Smartphones are simply too important to compete with the upcoming Samsung Galaxy A53. We don’t currently know when these smartphones will come to Europe. But it shouldn’t take too long if more and more details emerge.
