Xiaomi MIUI 14: These innovations bring the Android 13 update

Xiaomi had actually planned an event for December 1st, where MIUI 14 and the new Xiaomi 13 should be presented. Unfortunately, the presentation had to be postponed. Nevertheless, some information about MIUI 14 has already been made public.

New details about MIUI 14

Xiaomi started a beta in China just before the release of the new user interface, which means that much more is now known about the software. In addition, tipster Kacper Skrzypek has published the complete changelog of the update based on Android 13 on Twitter.

From both sources it is immediately apparent that the update is more of a minor update. The focus is on increasing efficiency and bug fixes. Nevertheless, there are also some interesting innovations.

• Xiaomi has now also added widgets and more options for personalizing the smartphone.
• Copying text from images is now also possible on Xiaomi devices with MIUI 14.
• Other innovations for the home screen are also home screen animals or plants. These are probably small animated companions that should bring some life to your home screen.

In addition, so-called “Super Icons” are mentioned in the changelog. Exactly what these will look like and how they will work is unclear, but they are intended to give the home screen a new look. It is quite possible that these are some kind of widgets.
