Xiaomi is particularly well positioned in the entry-level smartphone sector, in particular thanks to its Redmi range. The Chinese manufacturer will also soon present the Redmi A2, a particularly affordable 4G model, which will replace the Redmi A1 released last year.

Xiaomi Redmi A2: Renderings and technical data sheet for a smartphone under 100 €

The WinFuture site recently shared renderings of the mobile, but also a technical sheet. The images suggest a model with an almost identical design. We find the notch in the shape of a drop of water, which still seems outdated, and the double photo sensor on the back. We appreciate the presence of a 3.5 mm jack port.

It should be equipped with a 6.52-inch IPS LCD panel displaying in HD+ (720 x 1600 pixels). The refresh rate remains stuck at 60 Hz. Everything would be animated by a Helio G36 SoC coupled with 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB (which should be expandable via microSD).

The new entry-level 4G chipset from MediaTek, engraved in 12 nm, should allow you to benefit from a little more advanced performance in multitasking, and even to be able to play a little. The rest of the spec sheet looks similar.

A floor price

In photos, we would benefit from a main sensor of 8 Mpx and a second module still unknown. At the front, we will be satisfied with a 5 Mpx sensor for selfies.

The smartphone has a 5000 mAh battery and only supports charging at 10W. Autonomy should therefore be very solid, especially since the whole thing runs on Android 13 GB. It will take patience to refuel, especially since the Redmi A2 has apparently still not gone USB-C standard. It will therefore be necessary to be satisfied with a really dated Micro-USB port.

However, the site indicates that the smartphone should sell for an unbeatable price: €96.99. It will be available in Europe in the coming weeks. Several colors are planned: Black, blue and green.
