With this smart phone oriented multimedia experience and ease of handling offered under the bar of 500 euros, Sony is creating a niche in the competitive segment of mid-range mobiles.
Sony has formalized its Xperia 1 IV, a very high-end smartphone, but has not forgotten small budgets either with an interesting Xperia 10 IV.
An original design and screen
Light and compact, the smartphone relies on a comfortable grip to convince consumers. Despite its light weight, it manages to carry a battery with a very generous capacity of 5,000 mAh which should guarantee it a good autonomy. No notch or punch, Sony keeps an old-school design with a top bezel to house the front camera and speaker.
This is a constant with the brand’s mobiles, the screen adopts a very elongated 21:9 ratio, better suited to viewing content in cinema format. The multimedia experience is clearly Sony’s niche with this range. The 6-inch OLED panel offers Full HD+ display and a 60Hz refresh rate.
Performance is provided by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G chip, engraved in 6 nm and coupled with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage space.
Sony does not forget that it is a sound specialist
The audio has been particularly cared for and offers compatibility with the High-Res standard as well as with the LDAC codec for Bluetooth listening. A 3.5 mm jack port will delight those who have remained faithful to wired. The mobile is also capable of converting stereo music into multi-dimensional sound via 360 Reality Audio Upmix on several music streaming services: Amazon Music, Deezer, nugs.net and Tidal.
Sony does not forget the photo with a 12 MP and 27 mm main sensor, with an f/1.8 aperture and optical image stabilization. It is accompanied by an 8 MP, f/2.2 and 16 mm ultra-wide-angle module which offers a 120˚ field of view as well as an 8 MP, f/2.2 and 54 mm telephoto lens. allowing an optical zoom up to 2x.
The Sony Xperia 10 IV will be marketed from mid-June 2022. Its announced price is 499 euros.
