After the Xperia Ace 2, a compact smartphone released only in Japan, Sony is working on its successor, the Xperia Ace 3. Visuals have leaked on the web, revealing in particular a 5.5-inch screen.

Along with the iPhone, the Sony Xperia are probably the most popular smartphones in Japan, Sony’s homeland. The Xperia Ace 2, released last spring, had also been distributed only on the archipelago. Nothing says if the Xperia Ace 3, new iteration of the range of compact smartphones designed by Sony, will suffer the same fate. In any case, we know that Sony is working on it, just like on the Xperia 10 IV.

While Apple has just formalized the new iPhone SE, Sony is also working on a compact smartphone. Renderings of the device have been unveiled by Onleaks: we can see that the Xperia Ace 3 does not seem to depart from the aesthetic tradition of Xperia. The latter have always been distinguished by their very recognizable square design.
The Xperia Ace 3 thus sports a sleek design with flat edges. Pictures show two colorways, black and light blue. The screen used would be a 5.5 inch.
The Xperia Ace 3 would have more or less the same dimensions as the iPhone SE 5G: 139.7 x 68.6 x 9.1 mm, against 138.4 x 67.3 x 7.3 mm for the iPhone SE. The latter, however, is content with a 4.7-inch screen. It is in any case a particularly compact format, formerly neglected and which is gradually returning to center stage. Small smartphones still have a number of followers who appreciate being able to slip their phone into their pocket.
The expected features of the Sony Xperia Ace 3
On the renderings published on Zollege, we can see that the panel incorporates a teardrop notch for the front camera. The device has a jack on the top edge, as well as a USB-C port on the bottom. The fingerprint sensor would be integrated into the power button. The photo module is particularly small, with only one sensor being offered – which is common for small phones in this range, like the iPhone SE or Pixel 4a. According to the leak, it would be a 13 MP sensor. Zollege also mentions a release in June, at a starting price of Rs 24,999, or about 300 euros.
For now, no other details have leaked on this phone, which we do not know if it will ever reach our country.
