Former Olympic champion Yannick Agnel was arrested following a complaint filed this summer, for facts dating back to 2016. He is accused of rape and sexual violence.

The former swimmer and Olympic champion Yannick Agnel was taken into custody this Thursday, December 9, 2021. The investigators of the DTPJ (Territorial Directorate of the Judicial Police) of Mulhouse arrested the swimming champion at his home Parisian around 12:15 p.m. this Thursday, we learn from a police source, which confirms information from CNews. He was then placed in police custody as part of an investigation for rape and sexual assault on a 15-year-old minor, AFP confirmed to the Mulhouse prosecutor’s office.
