When a friend breaks his wrist on an electric scooter, the normal reaction would be to console him. But if you’re resourceful, you build a “car” with four of them, a Nintendo Wii steering wheel and a sports shoe mounted on an air jack.
Since March 23, electric scooters must respect the Highway Code in France, just like bicycles. Users must now comply with traffic signs and rules, which aims to reduce rising accidents. But one user, YouTuber Michael Reeves, took innovation even further by building a car with four electric scooters after his friend broke his wrist riding one of them.

Rather than simply offering support to his injured friend, Michael decided to transform several electric scooters into a sort of improvised car. He took four of them, built a platform and added a chair for create a one-of-a-kind vehicle. With the addition of an electronic circuit and homemade controllers, he managed to simultaneously activate their accelerators.
With a Wii steering wheel and four scooters, this user has just designed the most original vehicle on the Internet!
To make his vehicle even more unusual, Michael added a sports shoe mounted on a jack compressed air at the rear of the vehicle. This device pushes the car to give it an initial impulse by simulating a skater which is gaining momentum. He also used a wireless steering wheel for the Nintendo Wii console to direct it, which adds yet another playful and high-tech touch to his invention.
After initial unsuccessful tests, Michael learned from his mistakes and rebuilt the steel frame to make the vehicle stronger. To perfect his creation, he went so far as to buy a lathe for manufacture custom bearings.

To test this creation, Michael drove his “vehicle” on the public roads of Los Angeles to his friend’s house. We imagine that he would have been arrested rather quickly in France! Along the way, he had to replace one of the scooters whose battery had died. This adventure showed to what extent imagination and ingenuity can lead to surprising creations and, surprisingly, functional.
