For those who want to watch live TV from a PC or smartphone, the Molotov service is one of the best known. To reach a wider audience, the platform is looking for new avenues of deployment and, with this in mind, it is coming to Sony’s consoles, the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.

The Molotov teams have indeed sent a press release to the editorial staff to announce the news to users of PS4 or PS5.

Access to Molotov on PS4/PS5 (old and new models) is done directly by downloading the application via the PlayStation Store, or from the dedicated Molotov rail in the TV & Video menu.

This new deployment is aimed in particular at people who felt cramped on the relatively small panels of their smartphones, PCs or tablets. “The launch of Molotov on PlayStation enriches the user experience, always more eager to explore content on the big screen“, we read in the press release. In other words, it’s a new way to enjoy live TV on your TV. Instead of using a TV box, for example, you can go through your PS4 or PS5.

The few recent worries of Molotov

Remember, however, that the live streaming service has experienced some setbacks recently due to pressure from the M6 and TF1 groups. Thus, you have to pay to watch M6, W9 or 6Ter on Molotov. Ditto for the TF1, TMC or LCI channels.

On a more positive note, the platform has also facilitated access to content since there is no longer necessarily a need to download the Molotov application. You can watch TV directly from the service’s official website, via a browser.
