  • Netflix is extending “You – You will love me” for a 5th season.
  • But that’s the end of the series – season 5 is the finale of “You”.
  • In it, Joe returns to New York.

Joe Goldberg has to dust off his baseball hat again because “You – Du will love me” has been renewed by Netflix for a 5th season. But this is the last time Penn Badgley will step into the role of the deranged psycho killer, as Season 5 also marks the grand finale of the series.

Season 4 ended with Joe Goldberg returning to New York along with his newest obsession, Kate. Joe uses his girlfriend’s press expertise to unearth “the truth” – at least the part he would have liked to have exposed.

So his ex-wife, Love Quinn, is now publicly portrayed as a killer, while he benefits from this story under his real name. All while framing his former student Nadia for his murders in London.

Season 5 also brings some behind-the-scenes changes to the series. Previous showrunner Sera Gamble is resigning from her post. Instead, previous Executive Producers (EP) Michael Foley and Justin W. Lo will take over their positions for the finale. However, Gamble remains with the series as an EP.

Season 5 is slated for release on Netflix in 2024. The streaming service bought the rights to the series after US broadcaster Lifetime wanted to discontinue the series. So, since season 2, the series has been a Netflix Original.
