You on Netflix: this change in season 4 does not please fans

Season 4 of You will be different from the previous ones for a particular reason that has annoyed some fans… we tell you everything.

Netflix did not forget the fans of You during its TUDUM event since the American giant unveiled a first teaser for season 4. It is a beardy Penn Badgley who announces his retraining: here he is a literature professor at London. Who will be his new victim/obsession? The list of candidates is quite long.

If subscribers were delighted to see the psychopath on screen again, they were quickly disillusioned when they learned that season 4 of You was going to be divided… into two parts. Netflix will put the first episodes online on February 10 and the last ones on March 10. A novelty compared to previous years which has something to annoy some fans on social networks.

“I missed his “hello, you” too much, but what’s the point of releasing the series in two parts with 1 month apart?” (Twitter), “I can’t believe we have to wait until February 10 to find our beloved Joe and then March for the sequel, ah! They will do like Stranger Things and leave us on a cliffhanger!“(Youtube/Netflix US),”No one as a concept. If you don’t want to see everything at once, feel free to watch at your own pace. but you shouldn’t impose that on everyone, including those who prefer to have everything at oncep” (Netflix France).

This is not the first time that Netflix has offered its series in two parts and seems to be doing it more and more with its flagships: recently Stranger Things was broadcast in two parts. It will soon be the turn of Manifest (November 4 for the first salvo).

The streaming platform did not explain why it was applying this strategy more and more, but it seems to be reviewing its entire communication plan. And the upcoming arrival of advertising as well as the probable end of binge-watching probably have something to do with it…
