Joe Goldberg will be seen one last time as “You will love me” is coming to Netflix with a 5th and final season. Penn Badgley will slip into the role of the disturbed psycho killer with the baseball cap one last time, as season 5 marks the big series finale.

Netflix has already confirmed that the final episodes await us in 2024. An exact start date for “You” Season 5 has not yet been set. The fourth season of “You” was confirmed in October 2021, with filming beginning in March 2022 before the first part was released in February 2023. According to this pattern, the final season could be published in summer 2024.

To give us some information about the hit series, Netflix released a teaser trailer at the Brazilian Tudum event in which lead actor Penn Badgley provides some information about the final season.

Joe’s return to New York doesn’t just bring new problems. An old acquaintance from Joe’s past is targeting him.

A first picture of Joe in New York has also appeared. After his bearded London look, the killer is now back to a clean-shaven face.

You Season 5: Plot

Season 4 of “You” ended with Joe Goldberg returning to New York with his latest obsession, Kate. Joe uses his girlfriend’s press expertise to uncover “the truth” – at least the part he would have liked to reveal.

So his ex-wife Love Quinn is now publicly portrayed as a killer, while he profits from this story under his real name. All this while his former student sits in prison in London, innocent of his murders.

It is also known about Season 5 that Joe develops a new obsession with a young woman named Bronte (Madeline Brewer), described as an enigmatic and free-spirited playwright who works at Joe Goldberg’s new bookstore.

Joe will also interact with Reagan and Maddie Lockwood, his twin sisters-in-law, and Teddy Lockwood, his snarky yet loyal brother-in-law.

In Season 5 of “You” we see Penn Badgley again as serial killer Joe Goldberg. Charlotte Ritchie also plays a role as his lover Kate Galvin.

The teaser trailer stars Tati Gabrielle as Marienne Bellamy, John Stamos as Dr. Nicky, Nathalie Paul as Karen Minty, Luca Padovan as Paco, Joe’s son, Jenna Ortega (“Wednesday”) as Ellie Alves, Shalita Grant and Travis Van Winkle as Sherry and Cary Conrad and Tilly Keeper as Phoebe Borehall-Blaxworth and Amy-Leigh Hickman shown as Nadia. All of these characters have survived encounters with Joe over the past four seasons. Now is one of them responsible for Joe’s downfall?

New to the cast are Anna Camp (“True Blood”) in the dual role of Reagan and Maddie Lockwood and Griffin Matthews (“The Flight Attendant”) in the role of Teddy Lockwood.

Season 5 also brings some changes behind the scenes of the series. The previous showrunner Sera Gamble is stepping down from her position. Instead, previous Executive Producers (EP) Michael Foley and Justin W. Lo will take over for the finale. However, Gamble remains in the series as an EP.
