Windows 11 will finally allow you to remove more software installed by default on your computer.

And between us, it’s not too early!

More apps can be uninstalled from Windows 11

If you are one of the Windows 11 users, and you have ever tried to get rid of the pre-installed apps on the operating system, then you already know that some of them are unfortunately not possible. Good news, the Redmond firm will soon rectify the situation. The latest preview build of Windows 11 (25931) released on the Canary channel does indeed allow more pre-installed apps to be uninstalled. Here is the complete list of software installed by default that it will now be possible to remove from your PC:

  • Pictures
  • contacts
  • Remote office
  • Camera
  • Cortana
  • Calendar
  • Mail
  • Calculator
  • Clock
  • Feedback Hub
  • Family
  • Movies and TV
  • maps
  • Media Player
  • Microsoft 365
  • Microsoft Clipchamp
  • Microsoft To Do
  • News
  • Notepad
  • Quick support
  • screenshot tool
  • sound recorder
  • Terminal
  • Tips
  • Xbox
  • Weather report

Among this long list of applications, most of them could already be removed. However, this was still not the case for Photos, Contacts and the Remote Desktop Client (MSTSC). So, if you don’t use any of these tools, you can erase them from your computer forever, just to free up some storage space.
