The Japanese video game manufacturer Bandai Namco has been the victim of a hacker attack. Well-known titles of the studio are Elden Ring and the Dark Souls series. Due to the cyber attacks, your user data could now be in danger.

As Bandai Namco announced to Eurogamer, the attack happened on July 3rd. The BlackCat group has now claimed responsibility for the attack. The criminals gained access to the servers and stole data. They now want to blackmail the company with these.

It is not yet clear whether the stolen data includes user data from players. However, Bandai Namco does not rule it out and has protected the servers from further attacks. To be on the safe side, you should change the password for your customer account.
