Always increase the profitability of the platform. YouTube has been working for many years now on its business model to maximize its profits and absorb the colossal costs of free online video storage.

For the past few months, Google has wanted to tackle the very popular ad blockers to access videos from the service without having to wait. In May, Google conducted a first experiment to completely prevent access to the service by explaining that ad blockers were not allowed.

Remember that this is still an experiment at this stage, we do not know if Google will apply this strategy on a larger scale.

Google offers to “allow ads on the platform”, which should logically lead to a setting to disable the ad blocker. Alternatively, Google reminds you that subscribing to YouTube Premium allows you to do without advertisements.

This is quite an important topic for user experience on YouTube. In May, the service announced that there would henceforth be mandatory 30-second commercials on televisions.
