Released first on PS Vita in 2016, then on PS4 in 2017, on PC and Switch in 2018 and finally on Stadia in 2021, Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana returns for a new port, this time on PS5. Published by NIS America, this new version will be available from November 18, 2022.
The action-RPG makes us follow Adol who wakes up on a cursed island following a shipwreck. After rescuing other survivors, he decides to unite with them to build a village. The only viable solution to hope to survive against the ferocious beasts with which the island abounds. But the challenges on the island aren’t Adol’s only concern. Indeed, he dreams every night of a mysterious young girl with blue hair who lives in an unknown world.
The title is punctuated by two different chronologies. On the one hand, players can follow Adol, along with the other castaways, in their adventure on the cursed island and in the construction of the village. On the other, it will be possible to meet Dana, the mysterious young lady with blue hair of whom Adol dreams, and to learn more about her story. But these two parts of the story are not as separate as it seems because the actions carried out by each of the protagonists can affect the story of the other.
