As non-senior royals, Zara and Mike Tindall have the privilege of making money economically. The two like to use this fact and earn a golden, royal nose.

Zara Tindall, 41, is part of the royal family as the granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth, †96, but as the daughter of non-heir Princess Anne, 72, enjoys the advantages of the free market economy. Together with husband Mike Tindall, 44, they cleverly use their royal connection for their reputation to benefit from lucrative advertising deals. Brand expert Nick Ede, 48, tells the British newspaper Daily Mail that the couple earns over a million pounds (about 1,148,977 euros) a year.

Zara and Mike Tindall: With lucrative advertising deals to an empire of millions

Zara Tindall was a successful eventer (dressage, show jumping, cross-country), while Mike Tindall earned his living as a rugby professional. However, advertising or TV deals are much more profitable for the two of them. A week ago it was reported that Mike was on the UK edition of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! to participate in the coming month. This would make him the first member of the royal family to appear on TV during prime time. He is rumored to have received at least £150,000 (about 172,433 euros) as a fee for it. “I’m sure Mike was paid more than £150,000 for his participation,” says branding expert Nick Ede. Mike has also benefited from past partnerships, such as promoting CBD oil, thanks to his rugby podcast, The Good, The Bad & The Rugby.

Zara Tindall was recently photographed near her home in Gloucestershire for an ad campaign for outdoor brand Musto. This deal is said to have brought her 200,000 pounds (about 229,822 euros). She works there as a brand ambassador – she is said to earn about 500,000 pounds (about 574,555 euros) a year for this. But that’s just one of many other promotional deals with various companies selling cars, jewelry, CBD products, watches, baby strollers, and clothing.

The Tindalls are said to have closed these deals in the last year:

  • “I’m a star… get me out of here!”: around £150,000 (about 172,433 euros)
  • Musto: about £500,000 (about €574,555)
  • Land Rover: about 200,000 pounds (about 229,822 euros)
  • Rolex: about 100,000 pounds (about 114,947 euros)
  • Pureis CBD: around 50,000 pounds (about 57,473 euros)
  • Icandy Pushchair: about £100,000 (about 114,947 euros)
  • Magic Millions: around £125,000 (around €143,671)
  • Calleja Jewellery: about £80,000 (about 91,920)
  • VST Enterprises: around £200,000 (around €229,822)

In addition to material goods, partnerships with a cyber security technology company and a racehorse auction house were obviously lucrative for the Tindalls.

Next step: sports commentator?

But how do Zara and Mike Tindall plan to continue building their million dollar empire? By participating in the jungle camp, the ex-rugby professional should hope to gain more recognition and thus also profitable job offers: “The real value of the show is what you make of it afterwards. Who knows if he has a leading role as a sports commentator or moderator of a show, but for the ‘Mike Tindall’ brand this is a big step that will increase its profile tenfold,” says Nick Ede. Mike already had enough speaking practice for a moderator job through his podcast.
