Zelda: a player took only 94 minutes to complete the new opus on Nintendo Switch

Barely released, already finished. Available since Friday, May 12 worldwide, the game The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom on Nintendo Switch will not have resisted one of its first players for very long. Indeed, the one who hides under the nickname Gymnast86 finished the game in just 1 h 34 min and 33 seconds, reports the specialized site Video Games Chronicle.

The player posted a video of his game in mode speed run on YouTube to share his performance. Of course, if you want to enjoy the game without spoilers, we can only advise you not to watch this video. In another, the player explains the route he has taken and the tricks used to complete the game as quickly as possible.

A record at 23 minutes on Breath of the Wild

Gymnast86 noted that some of the cheats usable in the game The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wildreleased in 2017, have obviously been corrected by Nintendo. “That doesn’t necessarily mean that we can never use these glitches, just that the methods we know to enable them in Breath of the Wild will not work in this game”, he explains. Gymnast86 also warned that his “policies will probably be outdated fairly quickly”.

However, with the imagination of the players, new tricks and new shortcuts should be quickly unearthed, which should allow some speedrunners to complete the new game in the Zelda series even faster. For the previous opus, Breath of the Wild, the current world record is 23 minutes and 42 seconds. What suggest that the record on the game Tears of the Kingdom will very quickly fall below the 60-minute mark.
