Zelensky-Macron meeting in Paris tomorrow: what will the security agreement consist of?

Volodymyr Zelensky will arrive this Friday at the end of the day in Paris. He must sign a bilateral security agreement with Emmanuel Macron which has several objectives. Among them, the definition of a framework for providing financial and humanitarian assistance to help Ukraine’s reconstruction. To do this, the creation of a fund with several million euros is likely.

Even if the content of this text still remains secret, several objectives have been defined. Among them, the definition of a framework for providing financial and humanitarian assistance to help Ukraine’s reconstruction. According to a diplomat, Paris could set up a fund with several hundred million euros for civil projects carried out by French companies in Ukraine.

Additional military supplies

The other part of the agreement is military while kyiv is in difficulty on the front with Russia. The arrangement is not expected to include specific financial commitments regarding arms deliveries, as this would require parliamentary approval.

Emmanuel Macron could make announcements regarding deliveries of additional military supplies to Ukraine. France should also provide guarantees in terms of soldier training and strengthening Ukrainian industry.
