Here we are, it’s finally the long-awaited moment of the 7th edition ZEvent! Led by Adrien “ZeratoR” Nougaret and Alexandre “Dach” Dachary, this charity event allows no less than 59 streamers to broadcast live content for more than 50h. But what is the point of all this? Mobilize viewers for a good cause.
For the first time, this streaming marathon will benefit not just one but many five different associations, all gathered around a single cause: ecology. Thus, Sea Shepherd, the League for the Protection of Birds (LPO), WWF, Time for the Planet and Sea Cleaners will be in the spotlight for the next three days.
“It’s going to flop”
Since the announcement of this 7th edition of ZEvent — but also and above all because of the dramas that have surrounded the choice of associations or the list of participants — the detractors of the event have been shouting on social networks that this year going to be a huge flop. It is clear that they are not diviners, since once again the ZEvent kitty has just reached the symbolic bar of 1 million eurossmashing a new record along the way (just that)!
If in 2020 this level had been exceeded 25 hours after the start of donations, and last year viewers made it possible to achieve the feat of one million in barely 5 hours, the 2022 edition did it in… not even 3 hours! It is therefore a brand new record for the charity marathon which is only at its beginning – the end clap being done this Sunday, September 11 around midnight.
How far will they go?
And is it arrogant to imagine that the 15 million euros can be reached for the first time in the history of ZEvent? Maybe.. But we like to think that we have the right to be a little bit when it comes to raising money to help several associations.
Note also that there will remain the profit from the t-shirts sold (which you can buy right here) during this weekend to be added to the final prize pool. And if you have already followed the ZEvent in the past years, you know that this gain changes a lot of things! We will therefore have to wait several more days before knowing the amount (necessarily astronomical) that this new edition of ZEvent will manage to collect.
