“Zum Kotzen”: Frankfurt rages after seven games without a win in a row

“Disgusting”
Frankfurt is raging after seven games without a win in a row

Seven Bundesliga games without a win leave Frankfurt’s sports director Krösche at a loss. The usury of chances could become a danger for Eintracht in the European Cup.

In the search for the right words for the usury of opportunities, Markus Krösche ended up with a drastic formulation. “Maybe it makes you throw up. I think that’s the best way to do it,” said the sports director of Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday evening when asked a question. The 1-1 draw against Borussia Mönchengladbach despite the overwhelming superiority was the seventh Bundesliga game in a row without a win for the Hessians.

“It’s totally annoying, it’s totally unnecessary point losses. You can’t blame the boys, it’s been like that all the time,” said Krösche. Coach Oliver Glasner thought that “it should have been a win” because of the dominant course of the game. “I asked on the bench what we did wrong. It’s not an easy phase right now because the good results are missing,” said the coach.

Just one win in ten games

“Gladbach gets a point with no effort, we had many chances, but unfortunately only scored one goal,” said Eintracht goalkeeper Kevin Trapp after the game on Sky. “What it is, I have no idea.” The keeper found his team “the much stronger team over the 90 minutes” and that’s why in the end “everyone was disappointed that there wasn’t a threesome again. It’s not satisfactory.”

Including the two Champions League games against SSC Napoli, Frankfurt only won one competitive game from ten games. “You just have to make sure that you win the games. If you’re six points short because you didn’t win the games, it’s annoying,” said Krösche. Randal Kolo Muani (83rd minute) had equalized the lead through Gladbach’s Jonas Hofmann (13th) late on.

In the two months since mid-February, Bayer Leverkusen, FSV Mainz 05 and VfL Wolfsburg have caught up with the Europa League winners. The renewed qualification for the international competition is in danger. “We just don’t have the last punch,” complained Krösche. Coach Glasner said: “It’s an issue of efficiency, we haven’t just had that since this matchday. It’s going through a bit. If we keep going like this, then the victories will come again.”
