LDLC, specializing in the sale of computer equipment, has apparently been the victim of a leak affecting the data of 1.5 million customers. The French company confirms that it is investigating the incident.
As a major French player in the sale of computer components and computers, LDLC is necessarily a major target for hackers. Already trapped in 2021 by ransomware from the Ragnar Locker group, the company in the Lyon suburbs seems to have once again been attacked and victim of cybercriminals. No group claim here but from a hacker, who claims to have captured, on February 27, 2024, a database containing the data of 1.5 million LDLC customers.
LDLC confirms having launched an investigation
Anis Ayari, AI engineer, and Clément Domingo, ethical hacker who follows cyber news, each launched the alert late in the morning on social networks, citing the potential data leak of 1.5 million customers of the brand.
In this data, we find the surname, first name(s), email address, full postal address, mobile phone, landline of the users, but also other information such as accounting data, the degree of sensitivity of which nevertheless seems quite moderate to first sight.
Contacted by Clubicthe e-retailer LDLC quickly reacted, indicating that when the company became aware of these elements, it “ initiated an investigation ” with its ” partners specialized in cybersecurity », adding that the investigation was, at this time, still ongoing.
