Olympic Village, aquatic center, Arena Porte de la Chapelle… Three months before the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, and with the Olympic torch relay starting on Tuesday, are the infrastructures all ready?

D-100 before the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The Olympic torch relay began Tuesday after its lighting in Olympia, Greece. She is expected in France, first in Marseille then in Paris, on July 26. Three months before the event, where is the infrastructure?

Most infrastructure delivered on time

The infrastructures are almost all ready, at least the permanent installations: the Olympic village, the aquatic center and the Arena Porte de la Chapelle, all delivered in recent weeks and on time. A real success according to Marion Le Paul, deputy general director of Solideo, the Olympic works delivery company. “We have fulfilled the part of our contract perfectly. All the major sites have been handed over on time and within cost. We still have a little work left, training sites to deliver. We usually say that “we built the theater and Paris 2024 installs the decor and performs the play”, she explains.

14,200 beds to install, 200,000 seats to assemble

On the Solideo side, there are around ten projects remaining to be completed. On Friday, the Grand Palais will be officially delivered. It is now up to Paris 2024 to take possession of the premises. For example, by installing the 14,200 beds in the Olympic village. The organizing committee must also set up temporary stadiums, 200,000 seats, a record. Stands that you can start admiring on the Place de la Concorde or in front of the Eiffel Tower for the beach volleyball tournament.
