17-year-old convicted – drug smuggled into prison by balloon


The defendant is only 17 but has already been imprisoned twice. A third stay is now ahead of him after he dropped two narcotics airmail over the Puch prison in November. “I didn’t mean to let my people down, I’m sorry.” The apology didn’t help – two months in prison.

“Everyone does that,” chatted the four-time criminal in the Salzburg regional court. In the summer, he and a fellow inmate agreed to balloon drugs into the prison. In autumn he did it too: first on November 3rd and then on November 11th. In both cases, prison guards got their hands on the drug package, which was weighed down with stones and flour – Contents: 60 grams of cannabis, portioned and marked with certain letters.

However, despite accusations by the public prosecutor’s office, he does not claim to have thrown a third drug package, packed in a dog poop sack, over the prison walls. And he doesn’t want to have earned anything from the questionable drug deliveries.

Judge Christina Bayrhammer believes the young person who only sat in front of her in August 2020. “I gave them a reprieve, and then you do something like that?” He already had too many chances, therefore absolute imprisonment – two months. Plus three more because the judge is canceling the reprieve. He accepted the non-final judgment.
