The screenwriter and filmmaker Richard Curtis states in the press release accompanying the announcement: “I’m delighted to see Love Actually in its new version; picture and sound have never been so perfect. I loved the bonus, with all the reflections on the evolution of the film over time as well as all the memories of filming – although I was surprised to see how much I aged…!

When he talks about “all the thoughts on the evolution of the film over time”, the 66-year-old director talks about certain jokes in his film that he regrets today. He also recently made his mea culpa about the lack of diversity in his feature films.

A few years earlier he had already declared that in hindsight he was of the same opinion as Andrew Lincoln and found that the famous scene of the signs was problematic.

But despite these sequences, Love Actually remains one of the most famous and popular romantic comedies with an average rating of 3.8/5 stars on AlloCiné. The film will be released in theaters in a single screening on December 5.
