According to the latest update, the Corona-Warn-App can provide the necessary proof of vaccination against Covid-19 when booking a ticket for an event online. For this, the organizer must support the offer.
A QR code is then created and displayed as part of the booking. This can be read out by the app, whereupon the relevant data from the relevant certificate stored in the app is sent to the organizer. The certificates remain on the smartphone and are not saved in the validation service at any time, assure those responsible. The recommendations for action for a red warning in the app have also been revised for the update to version 2.15.
Certificates are checked directly when booking
The new function should make it possible to quickly and reliably check the admission requirements that now apply almost everywhere in advance. Vaccination certificates, genesis certificates, quick test certificates and PCR test certificates that are stored in the Corona warning app can be checked in this way. Depending on which evidence is required for booking an admission ticket to an event, only the appropriate ones can be selected in the app. If you don’t have one, you will be notified. Once the test has been completed, there is an indication of the result. It is also important that the name used for a booking corresponds exactly to the name on the certificate, otherwise it cannot be selected.
The Corona-Warn-App is being developed as part of an unprecedented open source project by a team from the Robert Koch Institute, Deutsche Telekom and SAP. The application runs on smartphones and collects completely anonymous data on nearby devices on which the app is also running. If it turns out in retrospect that a user has been infected with Covid-19, this can be entered in the app, whereupon contacts are subsequently warned. Since it was first published a year and a half ago, a number of functions have been added to the application. The app has now been downloaded almost 39 million times, and users submitted over 74 million test results in total. Of these, almost 1.6 million were positive, a total of almost 7.8 million warnings went through the system.
