The Minister then spoke on strengthening containment measures. According to the figures, more than half of the population is expected to be affected by covid-19. "We consider, and here I am only repeating what the scientists say, that 50 to 70% of the population in the end ends up being contaminated by the virus, and it is moreover that which puts an end to the virus since it creates a form of majority immunity, and therefore the virus dies out by itself ", did he declare.

For her part, the Minister of the Ecological Transition appealed to the civics of the French. Elisabeth Borne explained that it was necessary for everyone to give up "non-essential displacement". "The rule is now to limit travel as much as possible to slow the spread of the virus.", she added.

RATP and SCNF should propose a "reduced offer"of transport from this Monday, March 16. "At this stage, it is a question of maintaining public transport in agglomeration to allow the French to carry out the strictly necessary displacements. Concerning the transport of longer distance, between agglomerations, by trains, by buses or by planes, these will be gradually reduced", noted Elisabeth Borne.
