54 kilos lighter: this is how it changes life

Jennifer Still weighed a good 145 kilograms at the beginning of 2018. She has now lost 54 of them – and has noticed some changes in her life as a result.

Jennifer Still wrote an article for Business Insider about how her life has changed after she finally set the course for it in early 2018. At that time, she still weighed 145 kilograms and was a size 56."I decided for probably the 100th time in my life to strive for a change," reports the author in her article.

The difference to all the times before: This time Jennifer carried out her resolutions with the help of the keto diet. She has now lost a whopping 54 kilos and takes great pride in the fact that her relationship with food has changed for the better. "I also got rid of my sugar addiction and reduced my risks for obesity-based diseases," said Jennifer.

Easier life

She has not yet reached her desired weight, but the life of the young woman has changed in some things as a result of weight loss. Which these are, she explains in the article.

1. She likes shopping for clothes again

Jennifer never liked clothes for size 56: "All of these clothes are sleeveless and have the shape of a potato sack," she writes, among other things. In addition, no clothes wanted to sit properly and the parts also made them look older. Today, at size 46, Jennifer can find many more clothes that she likes and flatters. At the same time, however, it also calls for a rethink: "The fashion industry has to start designing flattering, fashionable clothing for all sizes."

2. She has more energy

Jennifer used to be constantly tired – mainly from eating an unhealthy diet high in convenience foods and sugar. The new diet, which mainly contains a lot of vegetables, healthy fats and proteins, provides you with much more energy: "I no longer have lunchtime lows and don't feel totally exhausted after a long day at work."

3. She is more on her feet

Quasi the logical consequence of number 2: Since Jennifer has more energy, she is now on the road more often. Sometimes with the dog, sometimes for shopping, but the main thing is on the move. "Since I've gotten lighter, I've got more of a desire to be on my feet." She's also really accelerating in the gym and can do a lot more training than before. This is not only good for your mood, it also helps you lose weight!

4. She cooks more and healthier

"I've always loved cooking, but my diet now requires that I cook fresh every single day," explains Jennifer. And those who cook consistently learn a lot: She is now passionately looking for new flavors and is happy to test new recipes.

5. She is treated differently

In the past, Jennifer often had the feeling of being stared at or being treated rude, which she attributes to her weight and the uncertainty that came with it. "Since losing weight, I feel like I fit in better." But: In your eyes, this is not necessarily a positive image for our society. If Jennifer had his way, no one should judge another by their appearance. We think: she is right!
