7 tips for good maintenance

Silk dress, lace bra, sportswear, comforters or children's linen … Your delicate pieces require your full attention to keep their outfit and color after washing. Here are all our tips for taking care of it gently.

1. Sort your laundry

To preserve your delicate clothes, sort them before washing them by color but also by material. If despite this, you are worried that your red dress will rub off on your other favorite pieces, use anti-fade wipes.

2. Make the skin stain before washing

If your laundry has been stained by wine or any other stubborn substance, do not hesitate to use a stain remover beforehand, or to soak your laundry in a stain removal solution the night before washing.

3. Check the labels

This goes without saying, but it is essential to check clothing labels carefully before washing in order to choose the right temperature or even hand washing if the machine is prohibited. Note that washing at low temperature not only saves clothes, but also the environment since the machine consumes less energy.

4. Pamper your textile by hand

If you have to hand wash your laundry, fill a basin with lukewarm water, as the hot water can damage the fibers. Then choose a detergent specially designed for hand washing, and rub gently if there are stains. Leave to soak for 5 minutes then wring gently. Grandmother's advice? Use a towel in which you will roll your garment to wring it out, this will avoid stretching it. Likewise, dry delicate woolen sweater-type clothes flat to dry.

5. Machine wash properly

There are cold programs now that take the hassle out of hand washing. However, be sure to follow certain rules to obtain a satisfactory result:

  • Use a good detergent, and in the correct quantity: neither too much (to avoid traces of detergent), nor not enough (to remove stains and bad smells, otherwise they will become encrusted for good). To do this, refer to the capacity of your drum and adjust the dose according to the quantity of laundry washed.
  • For a soft laundry, opt for Soupline of Vegetable Origin fabric softener. This one is formulated with ingredients that gently treat your clothes, on a variety of natural and synthetic fabrics. And we can no longer count its many benefits! In addition to scenting your laundry, the fabric softener makes your clothes more resistant. By sheathing the fiber, it protects the laundry from friction during machine washing. Result: the lifespan of your clothes is extended. As for the scents, you will not be disappointed too! Flax flowers, roses, white flowers … No more smell of artificial perfumes, Soupline offers natural scents that will only seduce you. *
  • Clip your bras together and use a mesh or pillowcase to prevent chafing. Wash bright colors and prints inside out.
  • Do not overload the drum. Your laundry will be poorly cleaned, and you will damage your washing machine.
  • Program a gentle spin, maximum 600 revolutions / minute.
  • Hang up your laundry as soon as the machine is finished to avoid bad odors.
  • Regularly run your machine empty with a product dedicated to its washing or bleach.

6. Declare war on bacteria

We often mistakenly think that our laundry is clean if it is no longer stained and smells good. In fact, when cleaning at a low temperature, additional agents must be used to kill bacteria. This is important not only from a health point of view, but also to remove bad odors. It is to combat these inconveniences that Bosch came up with ActiveOxygen technology which eliminates up to 99.99% * of bacteria and germs on textiles, even at low temperatures. The process, found in Series 6 and 8 washing machines, uses active oxygen to pre-treat the laundry at start-up and then before the final rinse. This is an option that activates at the push of a button, and adds 30 minutes to the chosen cycle. It even works for a cycle at 20 ° C, so ideal for your delicate laundry.

7. Forget the iron

Avoid using an iron as heat does not mix with delicate textiles, unless ironing is permitted on the label. In this case, place a cloth between the iron and the garment to preserve the fibers. It's your turn !

* Soupline is formulated with ingredients that treat your clothes gently on a variety of natural and synthetic fabrics (following label directions). This includes cotton, rayon, polyester, or acetate. To know what is best for your clothes, it is important that you consult the care instructions on the labels of each garment.

Different fabrics, sizes, colors or styles may require different or no fabric softener amounts. For example, some types of sheep's wool or alpaca wool clothing require a different product than fabric softeners. Synthetic fabrics treated to give them the appearance of silk would undergo certain treatments that are not compatible with the ingredients in fabric softeners.

Soupline can help you take care of the color and integrity of your clothes. However, its formula cannot repair damage previously done to fabrics or restore color lost through excessive wear and tear on clothing, bleach or cleaning products.
Please check your wash load size and follow the dosage recommended on the label. This can help match the amount of clothing with the volume of product that will give the best results.
