As with many stars and starlets, age is a thing. Opinions differ on the question of whether this year is really the 75th anniversary. In 1948 and 1950 the festival was canceled due to funding difficulties, and in 2020 the pandemic prevented it from being held. Either way, Cannes is and remains the most prestigious and glamorous film festival in the world.
