Known for its particularly strong smell, garlic is known to cause bad breath. However, a study published in 2015 in the journal Appetite suggests the scent of garlic might be appealing. To find out, the researchers separated 42 male volunteers into two groups: those in the first were to consume garlic and the other not. Their scents were then collected and submitted to 82 women. As a result, the scent of men who consumed garlic was found to be more attractive. According to researchers, this interest in body odor caused by garlic may be due to the health benefits of this food known for its antioxidant and antimicrobial properties. Proof that everything is a question of perception!
