In February, Anker launched its first balcony power plants under the Solix brand. However, these have a shortcoming. The built-in inverter can feed a maximum of 600 watts into the grid – i.e. the current maximum permitted by law. This should soon be raised to 800 watts. Then you need a new inverter to get the most out of it.
Solix now with upgradeable inverter
The manufacturer has recognized the problem and is now launching the second generation of its Solix balcony power plants. Here, the output of the inverter is also limited to 600 watts when delivered. However, it can be increased to 800 watts with a software update as soon as the legal framework allows this. This eliminates one criticism of the manufacturer’s balcony power plants.

And the manufacturer also takes care of another thing: the price. Compared to the competition, this is higher at Anker. But those who pre-order the second generation now will receive a discount of 10 percent until June 30th. This gives you the cheapest version of Anker Solix (2nd generation) for 719.90 instead of 799 euros.
These sets are available to choose from
As usual, there are four sets to choose from. These differ once in the scope of delivery and in the type of the enclosed panels. You can buy the Anker balcony power plant in the RS40 version with panels including a silver grid, or you can go for the more expensive RS40P version, which includes completely black panels without a grid. These should work more efficiently. The rest of the scope of delivery is identical. In addition to inverters and panels, you will also receive all the cables required for connection. In addition, the manufacturer offers both versions optionally with material for inclined mounting.
Unlike the first generation, you can currently only purchase the upgradeable Solix models from Anker itself. The balcony power plants, which are limited to 600 watts, are now also available from Amazon – thanks to a discount voucher, even from 479.20 euros.
