In addition to the games, PlayStation took advantage of its Showcase to give an overview of its new project on the portable console market.
Internally called “Project Q”, the beast therefore passed a head during the presentation of the Japanese manufacturer, in the company of the first official PlayStation wireless headphones intended in particular for the PS5 and the PC.
A project that is taking shape
Revealed by a leak for the first time last month, the famous new portable console from PlayStation was formalized during the Showcase last night. As previously indicated, it will therefore be a device centered on game streaming through Remote Play from the PS5.
In terms of display, it offers an 8-inch HD screen and a design that looks roughly like a DualSense with a screen in the middle. In this sense, it will have all the features that made the success of this controller, haptic feedback included.
Streaming requires, the games will have to be installed on the PS5 for the console to fulfill its function. Jim Ryan, the CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, indicated that the manufacturer will tell us more soon. No release date or price is yet to be reported, but according to the latest rumors, the console should however arrive in 2023.
PlayStation tuned
This is not the only accessory that was briefly shown during this presentation, which was also rich in announcements of big games. It was indeed followed by the first official PlayStation wireless headphones.
Also according to Jim Ryan, these promise immersive sound, without signal loss and with low latency not only on PS5, but also on PC. Besides that, they can of course be used on other devices thanks to Bluetooth.
As for the famous “Project Q”, we will have to take the man’s word for the moment, who again promises to tell us more about it soon. Again, we don’t have a release date or price for these PlayStation-branded wireless headphones.
