“All About Blockchain” is the latest in the Bookwire-initiated “All About” series. The digital conference on September 14, 2021 will bring publishers and media companies as well as creative professionals together with heads of the blockchain industry. The aim of the event, which is organized together with the Digital Publishing Report, is to make the possibilities of the technology more understandable for publishers and creatives and to show the specific uses for the publishing industry. the participation attending the event is free.
Blockchain: young technology, great opportunities
Against the background of the general developments around NFT (non-fungible tokens), cryptocurrencies and decentralized blockchain applications, Bookwire has put together a program that is particularly geared towards the areas of application in the publishing industry. Digital expert Dr. Teo Pham classify the hype about NFT in the creative industry and also show what opportunities this brings with it.
Tom Brägelmann, business lawyer specializing in blockchain at the Schalast law firm, outlines the legal framework for blockchain in his lecture. Kevin Wittek, Software Engineer at AtomicJar, Inc. and PhD student at RWTH Aachen University in the field of Distributed Ledger Technology and Smart Contracts, will give an overview of Smart Contracts – how they work and what advantages they have over conventional contract processing. Denise Duve, co-founder of DLT Talents from the Frankfurt School Blockchain Center, introduces the international DLT Talents program. In it, she shows what female empowerment can look like in the field of blockchain.
In addition, Bookwire itself gives an insight into Creatokia. This is the first NFT marketplace for text and audio content and an in-house development by Bookwire, which aims to make the world of NFT accessible and tangible for the publishing industry. Julia Lotz and Eric Bartoletti from the Business Development department at Bookwire will present Creatokia to the participants.
All About – one industry, lots of potential
The “All About” series of events organized by Bookwire is free and takes place at irregular intervals on trending topics in the digital publishing industry. Most recently, in May, the company brought together over 1,500 participants from 51 countries for “All About Audio”. “All About Blockchain” aims to build on this success and contribute to the further development of the industry.
