Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan: Farewell as Senior Royals creates sadness and anticipation

Prince Harry (35) and Duchess Meghan (38) start a new life tomorrow, April 1st. Your obligations as senior royals to the British royal family are history with the "Megxit", but they will not disappear from the limelight according to their own statements and initial reports.

What we will miss

We will miss one of the two royal dream couples of their generation and one half of the "Fab Four", as the ducal couple Sussex was called together with Harry's brother, Prince William (37) and his wife, Duchess Kate (38). The rapprochement between the two women married into the royal family was always exciting. Sometimes it looked like harmony, but more often after a polite distance. Especially at various events on the island, the witty redhead Prince Harry, with whom so many people had laughed, suffered and cheered from birth, will be missing.

But his wife also brought a lot of color to the conservative royal family with her charming smile and self-confident demeanor. Her delicate figure enveloped her in matching, elegant and only occasionally unconventional outfits. How much she must have suffered was never to be seen until the end of the year as a Senior Royal – the lawsuit against the British tabloid "Mail on Sunday" including its parent company "Associated Newspapers" for false reports and copyright infringements of October 1, 2019.

The posts on the successful Instagram page will also be missing. The couple said goodbye to the more than eleven million followers on Monday night: "Many thanks to this community – for their support, inspiration and shared commitment to the good in the world," they wrote. "We look forward to getting in touch with you again soon. You have been great!" According to the spokesman, the Instagram page "sussexroyal" and the website "sussexroyal.com" remain online, but they will no longer be used from April 1, 2020.

It is not yet clear what role Baby Archie will play in the future marketing strategy – Harry and Meghan say they want to be financially independent. At the moment, fans have to assume that they want to let their child grow up without the hated flash of lightning and will therefore no longer publish photos of their son. At the latest on his 1st birthday on May 6th we know more …

What we can look forward to

The Sussex family will continue to campaign for charity projects, Harry and Meghan announced with their exit post on their homepage. Accordingly, her fans will see her again and again at official appointments. How they also want to make a living has not yet been confirmed. However, rumors are circulating: According to this, Harry and Meghan could become self-employed with a film and television production company.

British media reported, citing insiders, the Duke and Duchess planned to produce voice-over and documentary films on topics such as mental health and climate change. Meghan is also said to have signed a voice over deal with Disney. The two received a very real job offer from the animated series "The Simpsons". The creators of the show apparently hope that the two will lend their voices to their characters, whose guest appearances are planned. The former US actress ("Suits") could thus return to her professional roots.

But Meghan should also continue to make a name for herself as an influential style icon, after all, well-connected stylist Jessica Mulroney (40) is one of her closest friends. On the other hand, Meghan demonstrated her sense of striking fashion in her last, extremely colorful appearances for the British Royals in London in early March. In stark contrast to this, recordings from her interim home in Canada showed that she can be quite casual in her private life.

And Prince Harry? Royal fans can hope that the British will always be drawn back to cooler London after having soaked up the sun in California …
