Ukraine: Kremlin troops halted outside Kiev

Fierce fighting raged between the Ukrainian army and Russian troops in the Kiev area for days. The defenders are now reporting that Moscow’s units have halted their advance for the time being. For this purpose, Kremlin units move into the city of Berdiansk without a fight.
Russian troops are said to have stopped moving north-west of Kiev towards the capital. The Ukrainian army is fighting back there with ground and air troops, said adviser to the head of the Ukrainian presidential office, Oleksiy Arestovich, according to a statement. Accordingly, three rockets are said to have been fired in the direction of Kiev. The information could not be independently verified.
According to Arestowitsch, there were attempts by the Russian army to advance into the city center in Kharkov in eastern Ukraine. Eleven Russian ships are sailing in the sea off Odessa. There are no problems in the southern Ukrainian city of Mariupol. The southern coastal town of Berdiansk on the Azov Sea, on the other hand, was taken by Russia – there was no Ukrainian army there.
Meanwhile, many bombers and fighter planes are said to have taken off from Crimea towards Ukraine. Kiev, the cities of Mykolaiv and Cherson in the south and Kharkiv in the east are said to be among the targets, the Ukrainian agency Unian wrote in the morning. The Interior Ministry of Ukraine reported 352 civilians killed on Sunday evening, including 14 children. 1,684 people have been wounded since the beginning of the war, including 116 children. According to Arestovich, more than 100,000 reservists joined the Ukrainian army over the weekend.
